Riding Guidelines for our mutual safety and enjoyment
- Be a paid member of the club, unless it's your first ride.
- Turn up at the relevant meeting point on time and with plenty of fuel to complete the trip.
- Have a registered and roadworthy motorscooter and preferably be comprehensively insured.
- Obey all road rules and speed limits.
- Ride at your own pace. The rides are not a race.
- The rides should be simply fun and not be a challenge to any member.
- If you intend on leaving a ride at any time, please notify someone so as to avoid confusioin.
- Do not ride too close to the rider in front of you.
Best to ride staggered within a group so the rider in front can see you easily in his mirror.
- If a rider behind you is riding too close or in a manner uncomfortable to you, slow down and let them pass.
- Please let either the lead or tail rider know if you are unhappy or uncomfortable about the ride.
- Always remember you are responsible for your own safety.
- The leader of a ride will announce the route before the start and also the planned stops.
At any planned or unplanned stops the leader must make sure that all vehicles can pull over in time and with safety.
- The leader should ride close to the speed limit within safety and comfort margins,
and take account of following traffic, pulling over to let cars pass if they wish. |
